A vehicle linked to Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk was reportedly targeted in a shooting in Abbotsford, British Columbia, shortly after his concert at Rogers Forum on Saturday night. Police said no injuries were reported.
Around 11 PM, occupants of a dark-coloured SUV allegedly fired at a car travelling along the 2500-block of McCallum Road. Minutes later, officers responded to a separate vehicle fire on Sunnyside Place, around five kilometres away. An SUV was found completely engulfed in flames, and investigators are examining whether the two incidents are connected.
Local Indo-Canadian media reported that the targeted vehicle was part of the convoy linked to Virk’s concert. Some reports claimed the vehicle was bulletproof and that Virk and the promoter were inside.
Police have not confirmed Virk’s presence or identified the occupants, citing privacy concerns. The Major Crime Unit said initial findings indicate the shooting was targeted.
Investigators are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage. No arrests have been announced, and the motive remains under investigation.
