Sunny Deol’s Cult Classic ‘Ghatak’ To Re-Release On March 21

Sunny Deol’s action-packed blockbuster Ghatak is set to make a grand return to the big screen on March 21, 2025, as part of the Red Lorry Film Festival. The festival’s official Instagram page announced the re-release on Monday, inviting fans to relive the adrenaline-pumping experience of the 1996 cult classic.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Ghatak remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated action films, known for its intense storytelling, gripping performances, and unforgettable dialogues. Released during Diwali in 1996, the film completed 28 years since its debut last year, continuing to hold a special place in the hearts of fans.

To mark the occasion, Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share a nostalgic tribute, posting a video featuring some of the film’s most iconic scenes and dialogues. The Gadar star also paid homage to the late Amrish Puri, who delivered a powerful performance as the ruthless antagonist, Kashi Nath. Puri’s menacing screen presence in Ghatak remains one of his most memorable roles.

The film also featured veteran actors Danny Denzongpa and Meenakshi Seshadri in pivotal roles. Upon its release, Ghatak was declared a blockbuster and further cemented Sunny Deol’s reputation as an action superstar.
