New Delhi: The South West District Cyber Police have busted a multi-state investment fraud racket and arrested 11 people for allegedly duping a senior citizen of Rs 22.67 lakh on the promise of high returns.

According to a report by ANI, the victim was lured through a Facebook advertisement and persuaded to invest via mobile applications named Mudra One and Nine Pro. The platforms promised lucrative returns.

Police said the complainant transferred Rs 22.67 lakh. When he later attempted to withdraw the returns, the accused stopped responding and blocked his phone number and WhatsApp account.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhimanyu Koshwal said a special team was formed to investigate the case. Technical analysis and call detail records revealed that the racket was operating from Rohini and Netaji Subhas Chandra Place in Delhi, using mule bank accounts.

Police initially arrested four accused — Tejinder, also known as Lucky, Ashish Saini, Sikhdayal Singh and Giriraj Kishore. Two more, identified as Pratibha and Satish, were later held for operating mule accounts. In total, 11 people have been arrested so far.

During the operation, police seized 92 SIM cards, 40 mobile phones, 39 cheque books, 45 company stamps, POS machines, UPI scanners, ATM cards, PAN cards, and several laptops and desktop computers.

Further investigation is underway.
