In a joint operation, cybercrime units from Delhi and Haryana have arrested three individuals accused of orchestrating online fraud schemes that reportedly caused losses of nearly Rs 89 lakh. According to officials, the group targeted vulnerable citizens — especially the elderly and those from financially weaker backgrounds — by luring them with fake digital investment opportunities.
Investigators found that a 71-year-old woman was cheated of Rs 49 lakh, while a stationery shop owner, aged 43, lost Rs 39.5 lakh after he was convinced to invest in a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Ravi, a 19-year-old student from Hisar, who allegedly allowed the gang to use his bank account.

Mandeep, 21, a Class 12 student and DJ, who also provided bank account access for the fraudulent transactions.

Kaleem, 32, a resident of Tughlakabad Extension in Delhi, who reportedly handed over his bank account despite being uneducated and unaware of the larger criminal network.
Police officers said the trio served primarily as facilitators by offering their accounts to the masterminds behind the fraud. Authorities believe the operation may have several more victims and are now examining financial trails to uncover the full scale of the network.
Officials urged the public to remain vigilant while making online transactions and warned against trusting unknown apps, links, or individuals promising high returns.
