1 Killed, 3 Injured As Crane Crashes From Under-Construction Tower

Mumbai: A 20-year-old construction worker was killed and three others were injured after a crane collapsed from the 13th floor of an under-construction high-rise in the JP North residential complex at Mira Road (East) in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Mujammil Khokhar. The crane crashed onto several vehicles parked within the residential complex, causing extensive damage and triggering panic among residents and passers-by.

Police, fire brigade personnel and other emergency teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident.

Rescue and relief operations were carried out on a war footing, and the injured were provided medical assistance.

Authorities said the exact cause of the crane collapse is yet to be determined, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
