The Indian government briefed Opposition leaders on Operation Sindoor, a precision military operation conducted by the armed forces on May 7, 2025, to retaliate for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.

The strikes targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, eliminating approximately 100 terrorists, including key operatives of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to reports, over 100 terrorists were killed in Operation Sindoor – India’s military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said at an all-party briefing Thursday.

“We do not wish to escalate the situation. But if Pakistan acts, we will not back down either,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said at the meeting, according to reports.

Operation Sindoor was a synchronised 25-minute strike – using precision weapons like the SCALP missile and HAMMER smart bomb – at nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, or PoK.
