Rajasthan: 12 killed, Multiple Injured After Bus Rams Into Culvert Near Laxmangarh

A devastating bus accident in the Laxmangarh area of Sikar district on Tuesday resulted in the loss of 12 lives and left multiple people injured. The bus, which was traveling from Salasar, collided with a culvert, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

Emergency services responded promptly, with police and medical personnel rushing to the scene to assist the victims. The injured passengers were transported to Laxmangarh hospital for treatment, with some in critical condition being referred to hospitals in Jaipur and Sikar.

Inspector General of Police Satyendra Choudhary confirmed the fatalities and stated that a thorough investigation into the accident is underway. “Twelve people have lost their lives. Proper treatment is being given to those injured. We are looking into the cause of the accident,” Choudhary said.

The Rajasthan government has announced financial assistance for the victims’ families and those injured in the incident. Families of the deceased who are not eligible for the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Accident Insurance Scheme will receive a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each, as per the provisions of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The fund has set a maximum limit of Rs 10 lakh per family.

For those injured in the accident, the government will provide aid based on the severity of their injuries. Seriously injured individuals will receive Rs 50,000, while those with minor injuries will be eligible for Rs 20,000.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his condolences, labeling the incident as “extremely sad and heartbreaking.” He directed officials to ensure that all necessary medical support is provided to the injured.
