Four Indians have died in a massive crash involving five vehicles in Texas, US. The victims died when their SUV was rear-ended by a speeding truck on Highway 75 in Anna, Texas, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. They had connected through a carpooling app and were on their way to Bentonville in Arkansas on Friday when the crash happened.
The victims have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan. Orampati and his friend Shaik were returning after visiting his cousin in Dallas. Lokesh Palacharla was traveling to Bentonville to meet his wife. And Darshini Vasudevan, a Master’s degree graduate from the University of Texas, was going to visit her uncle in Bentonville.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Indian diaspora in the United States, as several Indians have died in vehicular accidents in the country in the last few months. Recently, three members of an Indian-origin family were killed in a car accident in Houston, Texas. On May 14, three Indian students lost their lives in a major car crash in Alpharetta, Georgia.
