5 killed, 6 injured as van rams tree

Rajkot, Aug 25 (PTI) Five persons, including a woman,were killed and six others injured when their van rammed atree on the city’s outskirts early this morning. "Around 15 people were travelling in the van, whichcollided with a tree today on Rajkot-Gondal national highwayafter the driver lost control over the vehicle," Gondaltaluka’s police sub-inspector A L Mehta said. "Three persons were killed on the spot while twoothers, who were first admitted to Gondal hospital and thenreferred to Rajkot civil hospital, were declared dead onarrival," he said. Three of the deceased have been identified as – GeetaShyamsinh, Sandip Brahman and Balsinh. Efforts are on toidentify the two other deceased, Mehta said.
