At least seven people were killed and several others injured after a container truck lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles near Navale Bridge on the Pune–Bengaluru Highway late on Thursday evening.
The impact of the crash sparked a massive fire, engulfing two to three heavy vehicles in flames. Thick smoke billowed from the site as fire tenders and rescue teams rushed to douse the blaze and evacuate victims.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam confirmed that seven people have lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries and were shifted to nearby hospitals. “Rescue operations are underway,” Kadam said.
