“We have sympathy for the police officers who were targeted in such a manner. At the same time, the students who were brutally beaten by police officers, what about their families?”
Dipke alleged that the attack on police was carried out by “BJP goons” and not by student protesters. He claimed such elements were sent to disrupt the demonstration and said those responsible should face legal action instead of innocent students.
He also alleged there was a conspiracy to discourage students from questioning the government through protests.
CJP spokesperson Ratna Singh also responded, saying she wished injured protesters and their families could also hold a press conference. In a post on X, she referred to allegations of pellet guns, tear gas, injuries and harassment during the protest.
