New Delhi: Air India has appointed Tewolde Gebremariam as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, succeeding Campbell Wilson. The announcement follows a global search conducted by the airline’s Board to identify its next leader.
Tewolde is widely recognised for transforming Ethiopian Airlines into Africa’s largest and most profitable airline group during his tenure as CEO.
Welcoming him, Tata Sons and Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran said Tewolde’s operational expertise and leadership will help Air India enter its next phase of expansion and strengthen its position as a leading global carrier.
