Ajit Doval Reappointed As NSA, PK Mishra Continues As Principal Secretary To PM Modi

New Delhi: Ajit Doval has been reappointed as India’s National Security Advisor (NSA), while P.K. Mishra will continue in his role as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government announced on Thursday. These reappointments make Doval and Mishra the longest-serving principal advisors in their respective positions under PM Modi’s administration.

In his role, Dr. Mishra will oversee administrative tasks and appointments within the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Meanwhile, Doval will focus on national security, military affairs, and intelligence matters.

Doval, a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1968 batch, is renowned for his strategic acumen and operational expertise. He is recognized as a leading authority on counter-terrorism and nuclear issues.

Dr. P.K. Mishra, a retired officer from the 1972 batch, has been a key figure alongside Prime Minister Modi for the past decade, following his tenure as the Agriculture Secretary to the Government of India.
