All-party delegation positive outcome of J&K oppn-PM meet: NC

Jammu, Aug 30 (PTI) Asserting that the proposed visit ofall-party delegation to the Kashmir Valley later this weekwas as a positive outcome of the initiatives of Jammu andKashmir Opposition-PM meet, NC today said the opportunityshould be availed to highlight the political issues in rightperspective. National Conference Provincial President Devinder SinghRana referred to the proposed visit of all-party delegation tothe Valley later this week and described it as a positiveoutcome of the initiatives of Jammu and KashmirOpposition-Prime Minister meet. He said the opportunity should be availed to highlight thepolitical issues in right perspective and called for nationalconsensus over solving the Kashmir problem hoping that myopicor reactionary political approach will not prevail over thediscourse. Rana called on for a collective approach to restore peaceand normalcy in the Valley by addressing its politicalproblems, saying it is necessary for peace in the state. "The spirit generated by the Omar Abdullah-led unitedopposition’s meeting with the Prime Minister needs to besustained and carried forward to end the sufferings of peoplein the Valley and to create an atmosphere of trust, which canpave way for finding a last solution as expressed by the PrimeMinister during the meet," Rana said while interacting withparty workers in his Nagrota Assembly Constituency. He said reconciliation and not confrontation was the onlyway out to steer the Valley from the present grave situation. "The pain of Kashmir is felt equally in Jammu and we wantthe political parties to appreciate the gravity of thesituation and rise above party politics and work together tofind out a solution acceptable to all stake-holders, whichcould lead to sustainable peace in the state," he said, addingthat National Conference would continue to play its assignedrole in this behalf. He said the administrative inertia is galore due to lackof political direction and people were suffering with theirchosen representatives in the government showing immensedegree of indifference.
