Union Minister Arun Jaitley will resume charge as the Finance Minister, according to sources. Jaitley had undergone treatment in the United States for around a month.

In view of Jaitley’s illness, his portfolio of Finance and Corporate Affairs were temporarily assigned to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in addition to his existing portfolios.

The Union Minister returned to India on February 9 after being treated in New York.
Jaitley, who was designated as ‘Minister without portfolio’, underwent a renal transplant in 2018 at the AIIMS in New Delhi.
Although Jaitley was away from the country, he remained active on social media and was regular with his blog posts.
