The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections 2025, bringing the total number of declared candidates to 83 out of 101 seats allotted to the party under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seat-sharing arrangement.

In a notable inclusion, popular folk singer Maithili Thakur will contest from the Alinagar constituency in Darbhanga district. Known for promoting Maithili culture and language through her music, Thakur’s entry into politics is being viewed as the BJP’s attempt to strengthen its cultural and emotional connection with Mithilanchal voters.
Another key candidate, Anand Mishra, a former IPS officer, has been fielded from Buxar. Mishra, who previously served as the Youth Wing president of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, recently joined the BJP, adding to the list of technocrats and professionals contesting under the party’s banner.

- Chhoti Kumari from Chapra

- Siyaram Singh from Barh
- Mahesh Paswan from Agiaon
- Rakesh Ojha from Shahpur
- Maithili Thakur from Alinagar
On Tuesday, the BJP had released its first list of 71 candidates, featuring top state leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary from Tarapur and Deputy CM Vijay Sinha from Lakhisarai.

With the release of its second list, the BJP has almost completed its candidate announcements for the 101 seats it will contest within the NDA alliance, leaving the remaining seats for its allies, JD(U) and LJP (Ram Vilas).
