Others include Baldev Raj Sharma for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Thakur Randhir Singh for Kalakote-Sunderbani, and Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali for Budhal. The party has also fielded candidates like Mohammad Iqbal Malik for Thannamandi, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari for Surankote, and Chowdhary Abdul Ghani for Poonch Haveli, among others.
The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are expected to see multi-cornered contests, as this will be the first election since the abrogation of Article 370.
Votes are scheduled to be counted on October 4. In the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year, the BJP demonstrated its strong support in the region by winning both seats in Jammu, while the National Conference also secured two seats.
