Mumbai: A man was arrested in Mumbai after a video went viral on social media which showed the man on the bonnet of a BMW. The car was being driven by a 17-year-old boy, the police informed on Monday. The father of the minor has also been arrested.
In the viral video, a man by the name of Subham Matalia can be seen lying on a BMW bonnet as the teenager drives the car on the busy roads of Shivaji Chowk area in Mumbai’s Kalyan. Pedestrians and other people driving were shocked to see the stunt as Matalia could be seen on the bonnet with his legs spread out enjoying the ride.
The car is registered in the name of the boy’s father. Both Matalia and the boy’s father have been arrested by Kalyan police. Further investigation is underway for the details of the case. The incident comes amid the Porsche accident in Pune which was being driven by a 17-year-old which resulted in the death of two people.
The police have claimed that the driver was drunk at the time of the accident. The accused was released on bail within 15 hours of detention which resulted in a massive outcry, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) sent the accused to a remand home for 14 days, until June 5. The father of the minor has also been sent to police custody.
