Chandigarh: The Central Industrial Security Force on Thursday suspended the lady constable, who allegedly slapped actress Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport, according to a CISF offcial.
“We have given a complaint at the local police station against the concerned lady constable. She has been suspended with immediate effect and an inquiry has been ordered into the matter,” the officer said.
After the incident, Ranaut took to her social media account and asked how growing “extremism” and “terrorism” can be ended in Punjab.
“I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident took place during the security check. After I was done with the security check, a woman constable of the CISF waited for me to pass through the cabin. Later, she came from the side, hit me in the face and started abusing me”, Ranaut said in a post on ‘X’.
“When I asked her why she did this, she told me that she (CISF official) had supported the farmers’ protest. My (Kangana) question is how we end growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab”, the BJP leader added.

According to Ranaut, the incident occurred while she was proceeding to the boarding point to catch her UK707 flight to Delhi. The actor claimed that CISF official Kulwinder Kaur allegedly slapped her during the security check process allegedly over “disrespecting farmers”.
After arriving in Delhi, Kangna met CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials and explained the episode to them.
After slapping Ranaut, the paramilitary constable allegedly told the actor-turned-MP that it was for “disrespecting farmers,” referencing the 15-month-long protest against the now-scrapped farm laws and demands for a legal guarantee of minimum support price during 2020-21.
The woman constable of CISF who slapped BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut said, “She gave a statement that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement.”
Earlier, during the election campaign, farmers had blocked her convoy in Chandigarh while she was en route to Mandi.
According to Mohali Police sources, a CISF woman constable who slapped BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut has been booked under sections 323 and 341 of the IPC. However, she has not been arrested yet.
