New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday claimed a breakthrough following late-night talks with government representatives, saying authorities had assured protection for protesters, withdrawal of FIRs, release of detainees and no future police action.
CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the party would continue monitoring the implementation of the assurances, asserting, “No protester will be left alone. We are all in this together.”

According to Das, the nearly three-hour meeting took place after the party warned it would resume protests over what it described as a breach of commitments made when the anti-NEET agitation ended following Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
Government representatives reportedly shared notifications issued by the Bihar and Assam governments guaranteeing the withdrawal of FIRs, release of detainees and no future action against protesters. They also assured the CJP that similar notifications from the Union government and other BJP/NDA-ruled states would be issued by Tuesday.

Earlier, the CJP had accused authorities of continuing arrests, surveillance and harassment of students despite the July 25 agreement. The party demanded the immediate withdrawal of all cases, release of detained students and an end to the registration of fresh FIRs, warning it would relaunch protests if written assurances were not provided.
Das later said the Rajasthan government had also assured the party that no FIRs would be registered against protesters.
The developments come after the Bihar and Assam governments decided to withdraw legal proceedings against participants in protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.
