Congress on Thursday unveiled its first list of 21 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, signaling the party’s preparations to regain lost ground in the capital. Among the prominent candidates, Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav will contest from Badli, while former MP Sandeep Dikshit has been fielded from the New Delhi constituency.

Ragini Nayak, a well-known party spokesperson, will contest from Wazirpur, and Abhishek Dutt, a youth leader with grassroots appeal, will represent Kasturba Nagar. The list also includes veteran leaders such as former Delhi minister Haroon Yusuf, who will contest from Ballimaran.
Aruna Kumari has been chosen for Narela, while other prominent candidates include Jai Kishan from Sultanpur Majra, Mangesh Tyagi from Burari, and Shivank Singhal from Adarsh Nagar. In Chandni Chowk, Mudit Agarwal will contest for Congress, while Rohit Chaudhary has been nominated for Nangloi Jat and Anil Bhardwaj for Sadar Bazar. PS Bawa will represent Tilak Nagar, and Adarsh Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, has been named the candidate for Dwarka.
Congress is also fielding Garvit Singhvi from Greater Kailash, Abdul Rehman from Seelampur, and Ali Mehndi from Mustafabad. Other key names include Rajinder Tanwar from Chhatarpur, Jay Prakash from Ambedkar Nagar, and Ch. Anil Kumar from Patparganj.
The announcement followed a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee at the AICC headquarters. The meeting was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Devender Yadav, and other senior leaders.
