COVID: Hospitals Across India Begin Mock Drill To Check Readiness

Date:

New Delhi: With the increasing Covid cases globally, hospitals across India are carrying out mock drills on Tuesday to check the preparedness of health facilities to handle any spike in Covid-19 cases in India.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also reviewed Covid preparedness in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.

The exercise will be led by health ministers of the states concerned.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a virtual meeting on Monday with the Indian Medical Association to discuss the Covid situation and preparedness.

In a statement issued earlier, Mandaviya said that the government has been working to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country and urged the people to wear masks and follow COVID-appropriate behaviour.

Prime Minister Modi also chaired a high-level meeting last week to discuss Covid preparedness. During the meeting, Modi stressed on the need to follow Covid protocols at all times in view of the upcoming festive season.
