This attack comes close on the heels of Friday’s encounter in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Two militants and a soldier were killed in the encounter.
Security forces had launched an anti-militancy operation in Wadder Bala village of Handwara in Kupwara district following information about the presence of two to three heavily armed militants in the area.
