New Delhi: An alleged sexual harassment incident involving an American woman during her visit to India has triggered widespread outrage on social media after she shared her experience of an uncomfortable encounter at a Delhi Metro station.

According to accounts circulated online and reported by multiple Indian media outlets, the woman agreed to take a photograph with a teenage boy at the station. During the interaction, the boy allegedly crossed physical boundaries, making her uncomfortable. She later claimed that when she confronted him, his family members dismissed her objections and attempted to justify his behaviour.
The incident quickly gained traction on social media platforms, prompting debates around women’s safety in public spaces and the conduct of commuters in mass transit systems such as the Delhi Metro.
However, as per reports, there is no confirmation of any First Information Report (FIR) being registered in connection with the incident so far. The Delhi Police has not issued any official statement confirming receipt of a formal complaint from the woman. Similarly, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has not publicly commented on the matter at the time of reporting.
