Delhi-NCR witnessed a fresh spell of rain on Tuesday evening, with grey skies and steady showers covering several parts of the national capital and neighbouring areas. The India Meteorological Department issued orange and yellow alerts for different parts of Delhi, asking residents to remain cautious and informed.
Moderate rainfall was forecast across southeast Delhi, east Delhi, Shahdara, central Delhi, northeast Delhi, south Delhi, New Delhi, west Delhi, northwest Delhi and north Delhi. These areas could see waterlogging, particularly at low-lying locations and under flyovers where drainage may struggle during heavier showers.
Lighter rain was expected in several other parts of the capital, including southwest Delhi and other stretches of central, south, New Delhi, west, northwest and north Delhi.
The weather conditions are also expected to affect areas beyond the capital. The IMD forecast thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain in parts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar, during the next two hours.
