‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ Gains Over 1 Lakh Followers After PM Modi’s Remark

Date:

New Delhi: A satirical political party named “Dimagi Naxal Party” has gained more than 1.81 lakh followers on Instagram within a day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi using the term “dimagi Naxals” in his Independence Day address.

The party also has an X account called “Dimagi Naxal Janta Party”, which has over 7,000 followers. Its stated motto is “Think | Research | Resist.” The accounts say the founder is “A Dimagi Indian” and describe the co-founder as someone with “56 Inch ka.”

The party claims to follow the ideology of Bhagat Singh. In a post, it wrote: “We are Followers of Bhagat Singh… If THEY try to suspend our accounts or label us Anti-Nationals, just know, they are disrespecting Bhagat Singh.”

The party also alleged that its Instagram account faced cyberattacks.

The development followed PM Modi’s warning about “dimagi Naxals”, saying people sympathetic to Maoist ideology could influence and brainwash young people. Opposition leaders criticised the remark, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the PM was not referring to opposition leaders.
