Female Cheetah ‘Shasha’ Brought From Namibia Dies From Kidney Infection

Bhopal: A female cheetah named ‘Shasha’ brought from Namibia to Kuno National Park died on Monday due to kidney infection.

According to a statement, it was found that cheetah Shasha was suffering from a kidney infection before she was brought to India.

Shasha was one of the five cheetahs that arrived in India last year as part of the reintroduction program.

The cheetah was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 along with another five-year-old female cheetah.

According to reports, Shasha showed signs of fatigue and weakness, after which she was tranquilized and shifted to the quarantine enclosure for treatment.

The reintroduction program includes eight Namibian cheetahs which include five females and three males.
