First Be Vocal For Local, Then Go Global: PM Sends A Message On Birthday

Date:

New Delhi: On his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expanded his ‘vocal for local’ campaign by introducing a ‘global’ dimension, focusing on promoting local products in international markets.

During the inauguration of the YashoBhoomi convention center in Delhi, he urged citizens to prioritize purchasing locally made goods, especially as the festive seasons approach.

“Shouldn’t locally-made products reach global markets? To achieve this, you need to first be vocal for local and then transform local into global. Ganesh Chaturthi, Dhanteras, Diwali, and many other festivals are approaching. I urge all citizens to prioritize buying local products during this time,” he expressed.

He emphasized that the entire country has a responsibility to uphold the ‘vocal for local’ campaign, encouraging people to purchase products, whether large or small, with the tag of ‘Vishwakarma’ artisans. Vishwakarma, in this context, refers to traditional artisans and craftsmen. PM Modi launched the Vishwakarma Yojana scheme today, benefiting such craftsmen.

PM Modi also inaugurated Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), known as Yashobhoomi. He highlighted that Yashobhoomi will play a significant role in taking local products to the global stage.

Furthermore, he encouraged artisans and craftsmen to buy ‘Made In India’ toolkits from GST-registered shops.
