Kathua: In a tragic development, five Indian Army personnel lost their lives and six others sustained injuries in a terrorist attack on Monday in the Machedi area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to defense officials.
Meanwhile, the soldiers who were injured in the Kathua terror attack were given primary treatment at the Community Health Centre in Billawar and have been shifted to the Military Hospital in Pathankot, for further treatment.

The Indian Army convoy was attacked by terrorists in the Machedi area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The area falls under the jurisdiction of the 9 Corps of the Indian Army.
According to defence officials, the terrorists opened fire on the convoy, prompting immediate retaliation from the troops.
