From PM Modi To LoP Rahul Gandhi: Leaders React To Red Fort Blast

New Delhi: The tragic blast near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station on Monday evening that claimed eight lives and left several injured has drawn shock and sorrow from leaders across the political spectrum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the incident and assured full support to those affected. “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities,” he said on X, adding that he had reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and senior officials.

Amit Shah, who visited the blast site and met the injured in hospital, said he was “pained beyond words” and stated that top agencies are investigating the incident “with full intensity.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the explosion as “extremely painful and disturbing,” offering his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her condolences, writing on X, “I convey my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the blast that has taken place in Delhi. I pray for the quick recovery of those injured.”

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi described the news as “heartbreaking and concerning,” extending his solidarity to the bereaved families and wishing for the injured to recover swiftly.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that teams from the Delhi Police, NSG, NIA, and FSL were working jointly to probe the incident. She urged citizens to “avoid rumours and maintain peace.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge sought a “prompt and thorough investigation,” while AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal called the explosion “alarming” and demanded an immediate inquiry into any possible conspiracy.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath termed the loss of lives “heartbreaking,” praying for peace to the departed souls and strength to their families.

Security agencies including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are jointly examining the site to determine the source and motive behind the explosion. Preliminary reports suggest that the blast occurred near a parked vehicle, though officials have yet to confirm the exact cause.
