New Delhi: The tragic blast near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station on Monday evening that claimed eight lives and left several injured has drawn shock and sorrow from leaders across the political spectrum.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the incident and assured full support to those affected. “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities,” he said on X, adding that he had reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and senior officials.

Amit Shah, who visited the blast site and met the injured in hospital, said he was “pained beyond words” and stated that top agencies are investigating the incident “with full intensity.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the explosion as “extremely painful and disturbing,” offering his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.
