In a heartbreaking turn of events, London-based yoga enthusiast Jamie Meek, who had just wrapped up what he called a “magical” trip to Gujarat with his partner, is feared to be among the victims of the tragic Air India flight AI 171 crash.
Just hours before the crash, Jamie had shared a poignant video on Instagram, bidding farewell to India. “Goodbye India…,” he said in a short clip posted from the airport, smiling and visibly emotional. The post came after a heartfelt reflection he shared the previous night, calling his time in India with his partner Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek a “mind-blowing” and “magical experience.”

Their farewell message has since gone viral, with social media users expressing shock and heartbreak at the tragic sequence of events.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, bound for London Gatwick, took off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at approximately 1:30 PM but crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad within minutes of departure.
