The Gujarat government announced a special tour package on Friday for residents planning to attend the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
The package includes daily AC Volvo bus services from the Ranip bus depot in Ahmedabad, departing at 7 am. Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home and Transport, Harsh Sanghavi, stated that the first bus will be flagged off by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on January 27.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, will continue until February 26.
Sanghavi highlighted that the state government launched this initiative to provide a smooth and comfortable journey for Gujarat devotees attending the event. Since Ahmedabad and Prayagraj are about 1,200 km apart, the bus will stop for a night in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, with overnight accommodation included in the package.
The 3-night, 4-day package is priced at Rs 8,100 per person, covering travel, accommodation, and a stay at the Gujarat Pavilion’s dormitory in Prayagraj.
Bookings for the package can be made online starting January 25 through the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation’s (GSRTC) website, www.gsrtc.in.
Sanghavi added that the government’s initiative aims to help people experience the spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh Mela, and noted that timings and facilities may be adjusted based on the number of pilgrims attending.
