New Delhi: The Allahabad High Court is set to announce the verdict on the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Speaking to the media, Vishnu Shankar, the Hindu side lawyer, said, “Verdict to be pronounced on August 3. Interim Order to continue till August 3.”
The Allahabad High Court had directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to halt the survey of the mosque as a hearing on the matter is underway.
The Supreme Court ruled on Monday to stop the ASI survey conducted at the Gyanvapi mosque complex, giving time to the mosque committee to challenge the order.
Earlier, Varanasi District Court ordered an ASI survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex, excluding the ‘Wazukhana’ area, which has been sealed.
