The national capital witnessed severe weather disruption on Monday evening as heavy rain and thunderstorms led to the diversion of at least 15 flights from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to airport officials, eight flights were diverted to Jaipur, five to Lucknow, and two to Chandigarh as the national capital faced an intense spell of rain.
The heavy rain also caused massive traffic snarls and waterlogging in several parts of the city. Commuters faced long delays during the evening rush hour as vehicles crawled through waterlogged roads.

The downpour, which began as intermittent showers in the morning, intensified by evening after a brief lull in the afternoon. Dark clouds and gusty winds covered the city, drastically reducing visibility and causing operational challenges at the airport.
The Delhi Airport authorities issued an advisory earlier in the day, warning passengers about potential delays and disruptions due to adverse weather.
