A shocking incident at Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, has led to widespread outrage and protests after a hidden camera was allegedly found inside the women’s hostel toilet.
The camera, which reportedly recorded videos of students, is believed to have been placed by a senior student who then leaked and sold the footage. The incident came to light when a group of female students accidentally discovered the concealed camera on Thursday evening. Distressed and alarmed, the students immediately raised the issue, sparking protests that began around 7 PM and continued throughout the night.
Hundreds of students gathered, chanting slogans like “We want justice,” demanding immediate action against those responsible. In response to the uproar, the Andhra Pradesh government swiftly ordered an inquiry into the incident. Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh assured that stringent action would be taken against the culprits.
The police have arrested a senior student from the boys’ hostel in connection with the incident. His laptop and mobile phone were seized, although no leaked videos have been discovered yet.
