How TV helped Kejri fix his cough

Date:

This time Delhi CM Kejriwal‘s cough is gone! Surely it made the news. The politician is famous for coughing on every occasion, along with his muffler to protect his throat in Delhi’s harsh winter.

A TV appearance and a remark by industrialist Kiran Mazumdar Shaw led him to a surgery in Bengaluru.

“Watching Mr Kejriwal on television break into racking cough some months ago, Dr Mazumdar Shaw remarked how the poor man was suffering. I said the cough was too violent to be an allergy and the cause was more likely an anatomical problem,” said Dr Paul C Salins, medical director and vice-president, Narayana Hrudayalaya and Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Hospital, who diagnosed the condition.

Kejriwal, 48, was diagnosed in Bengaluru to have a  problem in his oropharynx . The surgery, which began at 7.30 am on Wednesday and ended at noon.

Dr Salins said, “The chief minister is already speaking and having semi-solids, but it will take at least a week for him to actively participate in political debates. I’ve advised him to rest his throat for 10 days”.

“The chief minister will comment on the surgery when he is ready”,  Dr Devi Shetty, the founder chairman of Narayana Health said.
