Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day festival that begins on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of ‘Bhadrapada.’
This sacred 10-day festival begins with ‘Chaturthi’ and concludes on ‘Anantha Chaturdashi.’ The festive period is also referred to as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayak Chavithi.’
The festival honors Ganesha as the ‘God of New Beginnings’ and the ‘Remover of Obstacles,’ as well as the deity of wisdom and intelligence.
During the festivities, people bring Lord Ganesh idols into their homes, keep fasts, prepare delicious treats, and visit pandals throughout the celebration.
