New Delhi: India has strongly condemned the drone attack on Kuwait International Airport that resulted in the death of an Indian national and left several other Indians injured.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs expressed grief over the incident and reiterated India’s position that civilians and civilian infrastructure should not be targeted amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The ministry stated, “We condemn the attack on the Kuwait International Airport today in which an Indian national has died and several of our nationals are injured. Since the onset of the conflict in West Asia, we have strongly urged that civilian population and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted. We again call upon parties to cease such attacks.”
The MEA said the Indian Embassy in Kuwait is assisting those affected and remains in contact with local authorities. The Embassy also confirmed the death of the Indian national and said it is coordinating support for the bereaved family and the injured.
According to Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence, several drones struck Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport, causing significant damage and multiple injuries. Kuwait described the incident as “criminal Iranian aggression” and said its armed forces remain on high alert while monitoring the situation in coordination with relevant authorities.
