India has formally condemned a series of Pakistani air strikes conducted within Afghan territory, labeling the military operations an “act of aggression.” In a statement released Saturday, March 14, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the strikes resulted in the deaths of several civilians and the destruction of non-military infrastructure. The ministry characterized the raids as evidence of a Pakistani establishment that remains fundamentally hostile to the concept of a sovereign Afghanistan.

The diplomatic rebuke follows reports of aerial bombardments in the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Paktika, and Paktia. Specific targets included a fuel storage facility near Kandahar International Airport and residential buildings in Kabul’s Pul-e-Charkhi area. While Islamabad has justified the mission—termed “Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq”—as a counter-terrorism effort against militant hideouts, New Delhi emphasized that such actions violate international norms regarding territorial integrity.
India reiterated its position that Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be fully respected to prevent further regional instability. This latest intervention follows a week of heightened tension where Indian representatives at the United Nations also raised concerns regarding the humanitarian toll on Afghan civilians. The exchange marks a significant hardening of India’s stance as cross-border hostilities between Islamabad and the Taliban administration continue to escalate along the Durand Line.
