New Delhi: An Indian-flagged commercial vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, sank near the coast of Yemen after being hit by a projectile, the Centre confirmed on Tuesday.
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal said all 13 crew members, including 13 Indians, were safely rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and taken to the Port of Mokha.

Sonowal said, “India strongly condemns this unprovoked attack on the defenceless mechanised sailing vessel. The safety of our people is our supreme priority, and I am relieved to inform that ALL 14 seafarers (including 13 Indians) have been safely rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and brought to the Port of Mokha.”
The Ministry of External Affairs also condemned the attack and confirmed that all 13 Indian nationals had been rescued. The MEA said the Indian Embassy in Riyadh is coordinating with Yemeni authorities and called for an immediate end to attacks on commercial shipping, urging the restoration of free and safe navigation through international waterways.
