The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, part of the historic Navika Sagar Parikrama II

Flagged off on October 2, 2024, by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, from Goa, the expedition is a part of the Indian Navy’s continued efforts to promote gender equality and global maritime cooperation. During the 4900 nautical mile journey, the vessel crossed significant geographical milestones including the Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn.

The crew, comprising Lt Cdr Dilna K and Lt Cdr Roopa A, faced extreme weather conditions, with winds reaching 40 knots and sea states of up to 6. Despite these challenges, the crew maintained high spirits and remained in good health throughout the voyage.
