J&K Police Announces Rs 20 Lakh Reward For Leads On Terrorists Behind Pahalgam AttackĀ

Date:

In a significant move to track down those responsible for the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday announced a cash reward of ₹20 lakh for any credible information leading to the neutralisation of the terrorists involved. The gruesome assault claimed the lives of 26 civilians — 25 Indian tourists and one Nepali national — shaking the valley and the nation.

Calling the attack ā€œcowardly,ā€ the police reiterated their commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice. They also assured that the identity of any informer would be kept ā€œstrictly secretā€ to ensure their safety. In a public appeal, the police shared the contact details of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, as well as the Anantnag Police Control Room (PCR) for those willing to come forward with information.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has convened an all-party meeting on April 24 to discuss the security situation and chart a united response. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 3 pm at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

The Pahalgam tragedy has drawn strong condemnation from across the political spectrum, with calls for enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of civilians and tourists in the region. The attack, which targeted innocent visitors in a popular tourist destination, has renewed concerns about the fragile security environment in the valley.
