In a tragic incident, two Indian Army personnel lost their lives and two others were injured in a fierce gunbattle with terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. The encounter erupted during an operation launched by security forces in the region.

In a separate operation, troops of the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army neutralized two terrorists in the Khandara area of Kathua.
The encounter began in the Pingnal Dugadda forest, located in the upper reaches of Naidgham village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Chhatroo Police Station in the Kishtwar district.
