Karnataka Government Declares Dengue As An Epidemic

This being the worst dengue outbreak in a decade, the Karnataka government notified dengue fever, including severe forms of it, as an epidemic on Tuesday, September 3, and made regulations to amend the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Regulations 2020.

According to the data shared by the Health Department, 6,676 total positive dengue cases were reported in the State from January to July 4, and 695 of these were active cases. Dengue has claimed six lives in the state in the current calendar year.
