A key feature of the Mahakumbh is the presence of various Babas (ascetics or sages), including Naga Babas, Aghori Sadhus, and highly respected spiritual figures. However, one particular “IITian Baba” is garnering significant attention online.
IITian Baba at Mahakumbh
In a recent interview with CNN News18, the “IITian Baba,” who gave up a scientific career for spirituality, revealed his background. When the interviewer remarked on his well-spoken demeanor, the Baba shared that he had studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay.
This revelation stunned the interviewer, who paused for a moment before confirming whether the Baba had indeed studied at IIT Bombay. The Baba, whose name was later revealed to be Abhay Singh, responded affirmatively.
Singh mentioned that he was born in Haryana and studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay for four years. Later, he transitioned to the arts and pursued a Master’s in Design.
He stated, “You’re constantly seeking the meaning of life. Even during my engineering studies, I took philosophy courses like Post Modernism, Socrates, and Plato to understand life’s true purpose.”
