New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a 22-year-old B.Tech graduate for allegedly creating and circulating obscene AI-generated images of a woman using photographs taken from her private Instagram account.
The accused, Keshav Bansal, allegedly knew the complainant from college and developed resentment towards her. The woman approached the Cyber Police Station after receiving messages that her morphed photographs and videos were being circulated through anonymous Instagram accounts and Discord servers.
Police said their investigation traced multiple Instagram, Discord and Gmail accounts to the creation and circulation of the objectionable content, leading to Bansal’s arrest. He allegedly admitted using AI-based tools to create obscene images from the woman’s photographs and uploading them on anonymous Discord servers.
A Samsung Galaxy S23 phone, two SIM cards and other digital evidence were recovered. Police said the material is being examined through technical and forensic analysis, while further investigation is underway to identify other persons who may have been involved.
