Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused opposition parties, including the Congress, of spreading misinformation on multiple issues, ranging from films to key legislations.
Addressing a public gathering, he alleged that parties such as the LDF and UDF consistently dismiss narratives they disagree with as false. Referring to films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Dhurandhar, he claimed similar accusations were made against them.
The Prime Minister also stated that misleading claims are being circulated regarding the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and the Uniform Civil Code. He pointed out that regions like Goa have implemented the Uniform Civil Code for decades, yet, according to him, incorrect information continues to be spread. He added that similar opposition was seen during the rollout of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Expressing confidence ahead of the Kerala elections, Modi said the BJP-led NDA is set for victory. He further highlighted the passage of the women’s reservation law, which ensures 33% representation in Parliament and state assemblies.
Concluding, he mentioned an upcoming parliamentary session scheduled for mid-April to discuss amendments related to the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, adding that opposition leaders have been invited for discussions.
