The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has stormed back to power in Bihar with an overwhelming mandate, securing a dominant victory in the Assembly elections. The Election Commission on Tuesday announced results for all 243 constituencies, confirming a landslide win for the ruling alliance.

The NDA clinched 202 seats, leaving its nearest rival, the Mahagathbandhan, far behind with just 35 seats, marking one of the most decisive electoral outcomes the state has seen in recent years.

Voter Turnout
According to ECI data, the overall turnout stood at 66.91 per cent, surpassing all previous records. Women voters once again outshone their male counterparts, registering a 71.6% participation rate compared to 62.8% among men, the highest-ever female turnout in the state’s electoral history.
The first phase of polling covered 121 constituencies in 18 districts, witnessing a 65.08% turnout. The phase saw 1,314 candidates in the fray, including 122 women. The second phase, spread across 122 constituencies in 20 districts, saw an even stronger response from voters, touching 68.76% turnout.
2020 Bihar Polls Result
In the 2020 Assembly elections, the NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, retained power with 125 seats, narrowly crossing the majority mark of 122. The BJP emerged as the strongest ally with 74 seats, while the JD (U) won 43. On the opposition side, the RJD secured 75 seats, and the Congress bagged 19, taking the Mahagathbandhan’s total to 110 seats.
