Several flights were diverted and trains delayed, following zero visibility in New Delhi due to the extreme weather conditions.
Delhi woke up shivering on Saturday as the national capital recorded the season’s coldest morning with the minimum temperature dipping to 2.4 degrees celsius.

Latest satellite imageries indicate dense cloud engulfing most parts of northwest India and extending all along the Indo Gangetic plains.
The Delhi Airport Authority, while informing the passengers about the delay said that the low visibility procedures are being implemented at the airport. It further added that the passengers should contact their respective airlines for updated information.

Breaking the news of several delays and diversions and citing poor visibility as the cause for the same, Delhi Airport Authority, on its Twitter handle today, said, “While landings and takeoffs continue at Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III B compliant may get affected.”
Meanwhile, train services were also affected due to bad weather. A total of 24 trains are running late due to low visibility.
The trains which are running late include 15707- Katihar-Amritsar Express which is running late by four hours and 13413 – Malda-Delhi Farakka Express running late by 3:30 hours.
According to India Meteorological Department, from December 31 onwards rain is likely in the capital city and its adjoining areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.
This weather phenomenon is likely to continue till January 3, predicted the weather forecast agency.
