It’s that time of the year when you know if your college or university has made it to the top 10 list of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has topped the universities category. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi has obtained second place, and Jamia Millia Islamia has secured third place.
In the engineering categories, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) has placed itself comfortably at number one for the sixth consecutive year. IIT Bombay secured the second and third positions in the overall category. IIT Delhi dropped to fourth place.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the ninth edition of the NIRF rankings in Delhi on Monday, 12 August, highlighting IIT-M’s continued dominance in the overall category.
Miranda House’s seven-year reign as the best college in India has ended, and Hindu College of Delhi University has taken over the top position.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad retained its top rank among management colleges, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
The National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, ranked first among law colleges.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi topped the medical institution category. Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, and Manipal College of Dental Sciences retained the top two positions among dental colleges. At the same time, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi, stood third.
